THE WORLD’S FIRST DIGITAL LASER
In 2015, South African researcher Sandile Nqcobo invented the world’s first digital laser. This breakthrough technology can potentially revolutionize a wide range of industries, including medicine, manufacturing, and telecommunications.

CyberTracker is a satellite-based tracking system that is used to monitor wildlife populations. The system was developed by South African physicist Louis Liebenberg and computer scientist Lindsay Steventon. COST-EFFECTIVE SOLAR POWER

FULL-BODY X-RAY SCANNER
The South African company Lodox Systems produces a unique full-body X-ray scanner. This scanner is the only one of its kind on the market, and it is used in hospitals and clinics around the world.

South Africans love their sports, so it’s no surprise that a South African invented the speed gun, a device used to measure the speed of moving objects like cricket and tennis balls. The speed gun was invited by Henri Johnson and It was first used at The Oval during the Cricket World Cup in England.
LIQUID GOLD’ FERTILISER
A civil engineering student has created a way to turn urine into fertilizer. Tinashe Chipako found that urine collected from toilets on campus could be used to make seven tons of fertilizer a year, which is more than the university currently buys. His work won the 2018 SA Institute of Civil Engineering’s National Investigative Project Showdown. Also, Chipako add that he hopes that his project will help to combat the water crisis that faced Cape Town earlier in future.
