They are some of the world’s biggest and most successful music stars and have their bank balances as proof.
Here’s a look at the UK’s three richest musicians.
SIR PAUL MCCARTNEY
According to MailOnline, Sir Paul McCartney and his wife Nancy Shevell have amassed a fortune of £950 million (just shy of R23 billion). Sir Paul, who will celebrate his 81st birthday in June, is still performing and, in 2022, made $105 million (estimated at R1.9 billion) from just 16 shows as part of his Got Back tour, the publication reports.
The singer and songwriter will turn 81 next month but continues to perform live. According to The Sunday Times, Sir Paul still makes £25 million (more than R600 million) on top of his normal income from song recordings from his solo career and the Beatles.
2. SIR ELTON JOHN
As the second wealthiest UK musician, Sir Elton John boasts a net worth of £ 450 million (about R10.8 billion), as per MailOnline.
Although the majority of his wealth comes from his music, he also has a couple of branded stories. The stores sell limited clothes, eyewear, and memorabilia.
3. ED SHEERAN
He might not have made the list of 345 wealthiest Britons, but Ed Sheeran is the seventh richest person in the UK under the age of 35.
Reports show he is worth £300 million (estimated at R7.2 billion). His 2019 Divide tour earned him $775.6 million (about R15 billion) with more than 8.9 million tickets sold worldwide.

Although Sir Paul McCartney, Elton John, and Ed Sheeran are the three wealthiest pop artists in the UK currently, they aren’t the only UK pop artists who can call themselves billionaires.
As one of the UK’s brightest stars, Adele hails from Tottenham is the fourth wealthiest musical artist in the UK. Today, the Hello-singer is worth £165 million (about R3.9 billion). Her bank balance makes her the ninth richest person under the age of 35.
Her Las Vegas residency reportedly earns her £500 000 (just over R12 million) per show.
As a One Direction member, Harry Styles already had a rather hefty bank balance. After going solo, he is reportedly worth £150 million (more than R3.9 billion).
His third and most recent studio album, Harry’s House, was the UK’s biggest-selling record of 2022.
